Joe Myers Toyota is participating in this year's Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, running Nov. 28 through Dec. 14. During this time, we're encouraging everyone in the Houston area to drop off a new, unwrapped toy at our dealership, which will be gifted to a less fortunate child for Christmas.

Joe Myers Toyota is proud to announce that one of our very own technicians, Carl Smith, took first place at this year's Master Diagnostic Technician Skills Competition! Smith battled against 14 other technicians in the five-hour grueling skills competition, which was made up of five individual testing stations. Judged on his diagnostic strategy, Smith exceeded expectations and was able to successfully complete the competition to become Gulf States Toyota's Master Diagnostic Technician.

Interbrand's 2014 Best Global Brands Report was just recently released, and out of all automakers included in the report, Toyota came out on top. The popular manufacturer ranked eighth overall, beating out every car brand, such as Hyundai and Nissan, as well as other leading global brands. Up two spots from last year, Toyota displayed a 20-percent increase in brand value and now sits as the most valuable brand once again - an incredible achievement for the company.

Toyota has officially become the first manufacturer to take advantage of NASCAR's new design guidelines, which allow brands to perform additional updates to their racecars to improve their overall appearance and performance on the track. The popular company created an all-new 2015 Camry model, which more closely resembles the incoming 2015 production Camry, and delivers greater performance than the 'Gen-6' NASCAR model.

There is nothing more important to Joe Myers Toyota than helping out the Houston community, which is why we recently joined forces with Toyota Motor Sales through the Toyota Dealer Match Program and donated a total of 10K to Brookwood Community. A well-known neighborhood within the city, Brookwood Community houses functionally disabled adults who are unable to live in society on their own.

The best-selling compact truck in America, the Toyota Tacoma, has officially arrived for the 2015 model year, and it's offering buyers the same incredible capabilities and powertrains featured on the outgoing 2014 variant. For 2015, the pickup is now available in Double Cab and Access Cab configurations, giving buyers a range of styles to select from that cater to their specific everyday needs.

Tesla's agreement to supply battery packs for Toyota's electric crossover may be ending this year, but that doesn't necessarily mean the companies will be going their separate ways. In fact, Tesla CEO Elon Musk recently said he could see the brand joining forces with Toyota once again within the next couple of years, collaborating on a new venture that currently remains a mystery.

Come out and celebrate German culture and tradition at Houston Oktoberfest, scheduled to be held on Saturday, Sept. 13, in the Northwest Mall Parking Lot. Based off of the historic Oktoberfest, which runs for two weeks in Munich, Germany each year, Houston Oktoberfest brings the festivities to the U.S. and showcases a wide range of the country's customs, such as German folk dancing, food, beer and clothing.
