Drive's very own Mike Musto recently traveled to Dubai, where he got the chance to take a look at the country's off-roading automotive culture. During his journey, he got the opportunity to get behind the wheel of a modified 2014 Toyota Land Cruiser equipped with a 4.6L V-8 engine and sail across the wide open dunes.

The construction of Joe Myers Toyota's all-new service facility is coming to an end and the department will soon be officially open! The stunning, state-of-the-art building will make its big debut on Monday, May 4. Complete with an Express Service Department, lavish waiting areas and an extensive parts boutique, the new facility is guaranteed to be a popular spot amongst locals in need of auto repair within the Houston area.

Distracted driving is increasingly becoming a major problem due to the onslaught of new handheld tech products being released across the market, and as this continues, more automakers are taking steps to help deter the dangerous practice. Toyota is the latest company to work towards combating distracted driving by patenting a technology that could keep track of drivers' eyes while in the car. The solution could be beneficial if used on future cars, keeping drivers safe on the road.

Slated to open in April, the state-of-the-art building will be one of the largest service facilities in the state of Texas and feature multiple service drives. An all-new fully equipped parts boutique and lavish waiting areas will also be unveiled along with the freshly built Service Department.

Joe Myers Toyota is participating in this year's Marine Corps Toys for Tots program, running Nov. 28 through Dec. 14. During this time, we're encouraging everyone in the Houston area to drop off a new, unwrapped toy at our dealership, which will be gifted to a less fortunate child for Christmas.

Joe Myers Toyota is proud to announce that one of our very own technicians, Carl Smith, took first place at this year's Master Diagnostic Technician Skills Competition! Smith battled against 14 other technicians in the five-hour grueling skills competition, which was made up of five individual testing stations. Judged on his diagnostic strategy, Smith exceeded expectations and was able to successfully complete the competition to become Gulf States Toyota's Master Diagnostic Technician.

There is nothing more important to Joe Myers Toyota than helping out the Houston community, which is why we recently joined forces with Toyota Motor Sales through the Toyota Dealer Match Program and donated a total of 10K to Brookwood Community. A well-known neighborhood within the city, Brookwood Community houses functionally disabled adults who are unable to live in society on their own.
