Toyota has once again been named the top motor vehicle company in Fortune Magazine’s annual list of the “World’s Most Admired Companies.” The Japanese automaker ranked 28 overall out of all companies surveyed and landed in the top 10 in both running a global business and talent.

The 2016 Toyota Prius strutted its stuff in a 90-second ad during Super Bowl 50. Achieving 50-plus miles per gallon and a sleek new design, the Toyota Prius had no problem flaunting its touchdown style in the ad, either.
Houston’s Discovery Green is now hosting Bruce Munro’s Field of Light exhibit from now until Feb. 21, 2016. The British artist, who has become famous for his exuberant light installations, has similar art on display in several cities throughout the country. Munro’s Field of Light installation was the first body of work chosen to go on display at Discovery Green since the establishment of the park’s brand-new fine art committee.
Toyota is just one of many automakers in the race to develop autonomous vehicles, and to support their advancements in autonomous tech, the company has just announced plans to begin using a new map generation system that will help them deliver the most up-to-date maps to drivers. Through the use of built-in tech already featured on most cars on the road today, the automaker believes they can make their map generation system a great success.
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has released their annual list of safety awards and out of all the brands included, four Toyota models received Top Safety Pick+ accolades. The 2016 Toyota RAV4, Avalon, Prius v and Camry each came out ahead of the pack, passing all crash-worthiness tests administered by the institute with flying colors.
Zoo Lights, a fun family event for all ages, is back again this year at the Houston Zoo from now until January 9, 2016. Presented by TXU Energy, Zoo Lights is a unique nighttime spectacle featuring over two million lights and special holiday displays all throughout the zoo grounds. From animal-themed light displays to traditional holiday displays, there’s plenty to see and admire at this year’s Zoo Lights in Houston.
Now that Toyota has announced their plans to return to the World Rally Championship in 2017 with the Yaris WRC (pictured above), it's being said that a production version of the high-performance model could land on the market in the near future. If the model goes into development as speculated, it will be the first hot hatch offered by Toyota to hit dealerships nationwide.
As a part of this year's SEMA Auto Show, Toyota showed off one of their newest creations: a real-life Tonka truck. The vehicle, based off the Toyota 4Runner, was developed through a partnership with Funrise Toy Corporation, manufacturer of Tonka Toys. It's just one of two vehicle's Toyota has teamed up with the company to build; the first being a Toyota Tundra fire truck.
Magical Winter Lights is a brand-new holiday tradition that will take place at Sam Houston Race Park from Nov. 20, 2015 - Jan. 10, 2016. Spanning a total of 52 days, this spectacular lighting event will utilize the same design architecture used to create Chinese lanterns in order to remake famous landmarks featured across the globe.
