The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has released their annual list of safety awards and out of all the brands included, four Toyota models received Top Safety Pick+ accolades. The 2016 Toyota RAV4, Avalon, Prius v and Camry each came out ahead of the pack, passing all crash-worthiness tests administered by the institute with flying colors.

Earning a Top Safety Pick+ rating from the IIHS is not an easy feat, but the Prius v, Avalon, Camry and RAV4 were able to prove they have what it takes to be crowned the best of the best in their segments. To receive the rating, each car had to achieve a good rating in five different crash tests, offer a front crash prevention system and earn a superior or advanced rating for the system. The Toyota Avalon and RAV4 are the two newest models in the automaker’s lineup to come outfitted with such systems and each were presented with a superior rating for the technologies.

"At Toyota, we continue to focus on the safety and peace of mind of our customers," said Dino Triantafyllos, Toyota's North American Chief Quality Officer. "We are proud that IIHS has recognized our commitment to helping protect drivers and passengers."

All of the award-winning Toyota models can be found at Joe Myers Toyota and are available to test drive. Come by our dealership to take each one for a spin and get a rundown of all their safety features.
