To address this, Toyota has partnered with Cirba Solutions, leveraging their 60 years of battery recycling expertise. Cirba Solutions handles everything from collection to extraction of vital elements.
This collaboration between Toyota Motor North America and Cirba Solutions expands the automaker’s recycling network across various types of vehicles. Cirba Solutions boasts an impressive 95% recovery rate for crucial element extraction, cutting costs for Toyota and propelling them closer to their closed-loop battery recycling objective. Thanks to a substantial grant from the U.S. Department of Energy, Cirba Solutions has upgraded its facility in Lancaster, Ohio. This enhanced facility will extract battery-grade materials from spent batteries, reintroducing them into the supply chain for future EV use.
