Performance cars and brands go hand in hand. Whether you're talking about the Nürburgring where all the hot hatchbacks go to play or the dragstrip where all the muscle cars go to show off, manufacturers know that possessing a reputation for performance means customers and bragging rights. But what happens when a brand is more well-known for its reliability than its performance? In the case of Toyota, they need to use their production figures to make sure no one thinks Camry's are slow. So, which one's fastest? Let's find out.

The fastest Toyota models are the Supra, Supra GT, Lexus GS300 and the Camry LE V6. The Supra was built from 1986 to 2002. It has a 2.8 litre, twin-turbo engine that produces 220 horsepower. The Supra is the fastest of all the Toyota models, with its acceleration reaching 0 to 60 in 6.4 seconds.

The first car on my list is the 1964 Toyota 2000GT. Yamaha built the Toyota 2000GT to be a sports car. It was equipped with a 2 litre 6 cylinder engine that makes 165 horsepower and 158 pound-feet of torque. It wasn't as fast as a Porsche or Cobra because it only had a four-speed manual transmission, and it weighed more than the other cars on this list. With only 170 HP, it couldn't exactly compete with the 250 HP Shelby Cobra. But, with its excellent handling, performance brakes and top speed of 127 mph, this car could hold its own against most sports cars.

The second car on my list is the 1993 Toyota Supra Turbo. This model isn't known for being fast, but later models were. It was equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3 liter 6 cylinder engine that made 320 horsepower and 315 pound-feet of torque. The Supra had a five-speed manual transmission, and with all 320 horses under the hood, it had a top speed of 150 mph.

The 2013 Camry is the family car that gets an EPA estimated 30 MPG on the highway. This mid-size sedan seats five comfortably and offers a large trunk with an opening wide enough to fit golf bags. The base price for this car is approximately $22,000. A fully loaded Camry will set you back nearly $30,000.

The 2013 Sienna is one of the most fuel-efficient minivans available in its class and gets 25 MPG on the highway. This minivan seats seven people comfortably and offers plenty of cabin space with a rear storage area that can hold up to 60 cubic feet of cargo. Its base price is slightly more than $25,000, but it can cost as much as $35,000 fully loaded.

On the whole, Toyota is a brand that can boast about offering some of the best cars on the market. They are affordable and built to last while still showcasing excellent performance. However, some models stand out above the rest, although depending on your needs, this could vary. Overall though, any car you buy from our dealership is a significant investment and will likely serve you well for years to come.
