Toyota Electric Vehicle Models

Toyota will drastically change its lineup in the upcoming years through the Beyond Zero campaign. Having enough space for a family of five, the 2023 bZ4X electric crossover SUV will kick off this innovative initiative from the brand.

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X Will Be a Pioneer

As the first production-level electric vehicle from Toyota, the 2023 bZ4X is already generating plenty of buzz around the world. Toyota dealerships in the United States of America expect to receive the first shipments of this all-new crossover SUV in the summer of 2022. Based on preliminary testing on open roads and closed courses, this compact electric car will deliver a range of 250 miles from a fully charged powertrain. Generating a maximum of 150 net kW, the standard electric motor diverts all power to the front wheels. A 355-V lithium-ion battery pack provides the main source of usable electricity on the go. This Li-ion battery has a peak storage rating of 71.4 kWh. When rolling on an all-wheel drive, this electric Toyota crossover SUV gets two electric motors. Each propulsion system generates up to 80 kW of instant output. When paired with the AWD system, the 355-V battery is rated at 72.8 kWh. Such a drivetrain also maximizes the car's curb weight at slightly over 4,400 pounds.

The 2023 bZ4X incorporates advanced safety and security features for the high-output battery unit. For example, a redundant monitoring system closely analyzes the operating voltage, current, and other electrical parameters in real time. A high-resistance cooling system prevents overheating in the battery pack, especially for long-distance driving at high speeds. The advanced circuit also prevents fire and other mishaps from an accidental leak in the battery. Covered by a reinforced structure, the battery won't be damaged by forceful impacts with other objects.

This all-new Toyota crossover SUV also has state-of-the-art electronics, such as a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch display. You'll find plenty of familiar applications from the all-new infotainment center, including Android Auto and Bluetooth. The BEV interface provides updates on the charging status, and estimated range of other relevant travel data. Using a smartphone, you can activate a digital key for this all-new electric Toyota model. Additionally, the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 boosts your capabilities behind the steering wheel. For instance, the TSS 3.0 package has sensors that detect pedestrians, bicyclists, and motorcycles in various lighting conditions. A monocular camera system and millimeter-wave radar sensors are integrated into the next-generation safety bundle.
