Over the years, Toyota's initiatives to reduce their carbon footprint have greatly benefited the environment, and for 2015, they were even named one of the world's greenest companies by Newsweek. As the automotive world continues to focus on new ways to develop eco-friendly vehicles, Toyota is working to do their part and recently began a new project, the Toyota Environment Challenge 2050, in an effort to deliver more "green" cars, trucks and SUVs.

Toyota is taking major steps to ensure their lineup will help preserve the environment. By 2050, the company aims to have a global fleet of new cars with 90 percent lower emissions than their 2010 global average. Driving this goal will be the implementation of next-generation powertrains for hybrid, electric and hydrogen vehicles, which will also help the brand reach their objective to sell 30,000 fuel cell models by 2020. They plan to introduce Sakichi and metal air batteries to their roster of electric cars and also change the way they build cars in their factories in order to reduce CO2 emissions.

With an array of green models like the Prius, Avalon Hybrid, Camry Hybrid and brand-new Mirai in their lineup, Toyota's already on their way to meeting their future goals. Stop by Joe Myers Toyota today to check out all of these low-emission models in stock and take one for a test drive.
