There is nothing more important to Joe Myers Toyota than helping out the Houston community, which is why we recently joined forces with Toyota Motor Sales through the Toyota Dealer Match Program and donated a total of 10K to Brookwood Community. A well-known neighborhood within the city, Brookwood Community houses functionally disabled adults who are unable to live in society on their own. By living at Brookwood, mentally and physically disabled adults receive support and an education that enables them to acquire jobs in the Community's very own business enterprises. Brookwood's long-term efforts within Houston have benefited many adults in need over the years and we're happy to help them continue their mission. We hope our 5K donation, along with Toyota Motor Sale's 5K contribution, will assist many families within the Community and ease their medical burdens.
Established in 1985, Brookwood Community's campus consists of a residential Inn, eight group homes and two single-family staff homes. In addition to the housing units, it also features an activities/administrations building, health/dental clinic, 47 greenhouses and a CafƩ among other facilities. The Community houses a total of 115 disabled adults and serves an additional 90 plus adults during their day program. Through a variety of opportunities, they are able to provide spiritual, emotional and social growth, helping each individual lead a better life.
