What's New for the 2020 Toyota Supra?

In 2020, just about everything is "new" for the Toyota Supra. That's in part because of substantial changes that Toyota has made to its flagship sports car, but also because of the fact that the Supra has finally reappeared after a long time off the market. Rumors and whispers aren't always true, but in this case, they are - and in a good way.

The Supra, fans can rest assured, is back better than ever for the 2020 model year. Now, it is decked out in more confident styling, better aerodynamics, and improved performance capabilities to take on the best of the competition. Inside, the Supra retains the sensibility of Toyota with a comfortable cabin and plenty of safety features. There are many options for adding a custom finish to any one of the three trim levels available.

What are the Available Trims and Features for 2020?

Starting with the 3.0, there are several trims available in the 2020 Supra. The 3.0 comes with a number of standard amenities, including a 6.5-inch infotainment display screen, bucket-style sporty seats, and a premium sound system. The base trim also comes with a healthy dose of driver-assist safety amenities. It comes with a number of standard exterior color choices, too.

Moving up to the 3.0 Premium, which is the mid-level trim, you'll get even more amenities. This includes a standard 8.8-inch infotainment display screen with Apple CarPlay. On this trim and the top-level trim, which is the special Launch Edition, you'll also get an upgrade in sound quality to a 12-speaker sound system made by JBL. Heated leather seats are a nice bonus on the mid-level and upper-level trim. Despite the seemingly small size, there is still room in the back for storing luggage, groceries, sports equipment, and more.

Toyota Supra Performance

2020 Toyota SupraAlthough the three trim levels of the Supra differ in appearance and amenities, they share the same engine and handling capabilities. The engine that powers all three trims is a turbocharged 3.0L engine with six cylinders. This engine, which is exceptionally responsive, gives the Supra an impressive acceleration capability of 0-60 MPH in just 4.1 seconds. The engine can produce up to 335 HP. This year, it has been moved and re-centered to improve the center of gravity. The engine is paired with Brembo brakes, an adaptive suspension system, and a rigid chassis. It also comes with special sport Michelin tires to improve its traction and handling.

Toyota Supra Safety Features

2020 Toyota SupraThe 2020 Toyota Supra is undoubtedly a car made for speed and performance. But it is also quite safe. As you might expect with a Toyota, the Supra has a generous assortment of standard and available safety amenities. Its generous driver-assist safety package includes many standard safety features across the board, such as lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection, and automatic high-beam headlamps. You can also get additional safety features by adding the Driver Assistance package to any Supra trim. These extra safety features include blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, and more. The Supra also has passive safety amenities like seat belts and a fortified body frame to deflect energy from an accident.
