If you've been thinking about purchasing a brand-new Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid, we suggest you do it now, because Toyota has decided to end production of the model in June. The popular manufacturer will be putting the current Plug-In Hybrid out to pasture in order to begin developing a next-generation model that will take its place. However, you'll still be able to purchase other models in the Prius family, which are currently available at Joe Myers Toyota.
The announcement about Toyota's plans to kill production of the Prius Plug-In Hybrid was made by Nathan Kokes, a marketing representative for Toyota's Advanced Technology division. There was no news as to when the next-generation Prius Hybrid will debut, but Kokes said Toyota currently has plenty of Plug-In models to sell after production ceases. When the all-new Prius Plug-In does arrive, it will be completely restyled and most likely obtain features that differentiate it from the standard Prius. Other models in the Prius lineup, including the Prius c and Prius v, are also likely to be redesigned, following in the footsteps of the Prius Plug-In Hybrid. We'll keep you updated with any further news we hear about the future of these models and any changes that may occur.
