What's New For the 2021 Toyota RAV4?
The Toyota RAV4 has three models: the standard gasoline-powered RAV4, RAV4 Hybrid, and the new for 2021, RAV4 Prime, a hybrid plug-in. The gas model doesn't see significant changes; however, the RAV4 Hybrid gets the XLE Premium mid-level trim.
2021 Toyota RAV4 Is Impressive No Matter Which Trim You Choose
The RAV4 comes in six trim levels: LE, XLE, XLE Premium, Adventure, TRD Off-Road, and Limited. The LE trim level includes LED headlights, a seven-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration. An abundance of standard safety features come with the Toyota Safety Sense 2.0 package, which is standard. A power-adjustable driver's seat comes with the XLE trim and dual-zone climate control, and keyless entry. You also get additional USB ports.
A sunroof, 19-inch wheels, and a raised suspension system come with the XLE Premium. The seating features simulated leather. The Adventure trim includes hill descent control, an 8-inch touchscreen, and taller roof rails. All-terrain tires and off-road suspension are added to the TRD Off-Road. The Limited adds to the XLE Premium list of features with more chrome accents, heated seats, and a premium 11-speaker JBL audio system.
The Toyota RAV4 Hybrid offers five trim levels, LE, XLE, the new for 2021, XLE Premium, XSE, and Limited. Similar to the RAV4, the Hybrid LE trim has 17-inch wheels, LED headlights, a 7-inch touchscreen with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and Alexa integration. You get projector-style LED headlights, fog lights, and a power-adjustable driver's seat included on the XLE trim.
The Hybrid XLE Premium trim, new for 2021, adds a leather-wrapped steering wheel, sunroof, a power liftgate, and 18-inch wheels. If you're into a sporty aesthetic, the XSE trim brings it with an instrument panel offering analog and digital clusters, black-painted 18-inch wheels, a sport-tuned suspension, heated front seats, and two-tone paint with black trim. The top trim for the RAV4 Hybrid is the Limited. It doesn't have the sporty look of the XSE but keeps some of its features and adds an 11-speaker JBL audio system, navigation system, and its 18-inch wheels are chrome.
The RAV4 Prime has the SE and XSE trims. You get a power liftgate with the SE, an 8-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, and heated front seats. A two-tone roof, paddle shifters, interior ambient lighting, a sunroof, and a 9-inch touchscreen comes with the top XSE trim level.

How Much Power Does the RAV4 Have?
Performance and power output vary by model. The RAV4 has a total power capacity of about 200 HP. Slightly more power is added to the Hybrid, which has an eight-speed automatic transmission. More power comes with the Prime, which has a greater power capacity of 300 HP. The Prime also has an automatic transmission.
