2021 Toyota Highlander

What's New For the 2021 Toyota Highlander?

The Toyota Highlander adds a new trim level in 2021 called the XSE. The XSE joins the Highlander family in the middle of the range. It is one of the sportier variants in the Highlander lineup, with plenty of unique exterior styling cues. The XSE also contains a few interior upgrades, including navigation, to give you a more upscale and connected ride. The Toyota Highlander is also available as a hybrid, which is called the 2021 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. The hybrid does not have many substantive changes this year. There are four trim levels available in the hybrid and six if you get the regular Highlander.

2021 Highlander Trims & Features

The Highlander and Highlander Hybrid have some of the same trim levels, while the 2021 Highlander adds a few additional trims to its lineup. The second trim, called the LE, adds fog lights and a leather steering wheel. With the XLE comes a sunroof and roof rails. The seats are upgraded in material and design with simulated leather upholstery and heating-the seating configuration changes to seven with captain's chairs. The new XSE trim adds in navigation and interior lighting. The Limited upgrades its seats again to leather. Its seats are ventilated and heated.

The Platinum trim that tops the line gets a 12.3-inch infotainment display and a panoramic sunroof. The Hybrid LE, which is the base trim, combines the first two Highlander trims' features. The XLE trim follows with a wireless phone charger and heated seats. The Limited gets navigation and leather upholstery, while the Platinum includes a panoramic sunroof and 12.3-inch touchscreen.
