What's New For the 2020 Toyota Camry & Camry Hybrid?

The Camry is better than ever as it moves into 2020. New for this year is standard Android Auto compatibility on every model, including the Hybrid. A brand new trim also joins the lineup. It is called the TRD, and it is a performance-oriented sedan. The TRD now sits at the very top of the trim ladder. All-wheel-drive also becomes an option on specific models in 2020, something that the Camry has not seen for quite a while. Both the Camry and Camry Hybrid are the eightieth generation of this vehicle, which debuted in 2018.

What Features are Available for 2020?

There are six different trim levels for the Camry and three different options for the Camry Hybrid. For the Camry, all-wheel-drive will be available on models that are LE or above with the four-cylinder engine option. All versions of the Camry include smartphone integration, a WiFi hotspot, LED headlights, and at least a six-speaker sound system. For the Camry Hybrid, drivers have a choice between the LE, SE, and XLE models. The trim options for the gas-powered Camry are the L, LE, SE, XLE, XSE, and TRD. For the brand-new TRD trim, drivers get driver-selectable driving modes, stylish 19" wheels, and keyless ignition and entry. Performance upgrades include upgraded brakes, an aerodynamic body kit, and a specialized sport-tuned suspension.

2020 Toyota CamryThere are two different gas-powered options when it comes to the 2020 Camry. Standard is a 2.5L four-cylinder that makes 203-horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque in most cases. When this engine is underneath the hood of the XSE, it manages to get 206-horsepower and 186 lb-ft of torque instead. Also available for the XLE and XSE and standard for the TRD is a 3.5L V6. It generates 301-horsepower in addition to 267 lb-ft of torque. With either gas engine, an eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. The Camry Hybrid is powered by a similar 2.5L four-cylinder that works with two electric motors. This setup is paired with a continuously variable transmission.

Toyota Camry & Camry Hybrid Safety Features

2020 Toyota CamryToyota makes the most sought-after driver assistance features standard on all of the versions of the Camry. Drivers get adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, lane departure warning, and a forward-collision warning system featuring automatic emergency braking. Also standard is a tire pressure monitoring system, with higher trim levels adding a direct pressure readout feature. Upper trims also get features such as automatic high beams and full-speed adaptive cruise control. The 2019 Camry received 5-stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. As the safety features have not changed for 2020, it is easy to predict the same will happen for the newest models.
