The 2020 Toyota 4Runner is a full-sized SUV that's fun to drive. You can go to the rockiest or toughest of places and come out with hardly any damage. Toyota has been around for over 30 years and still has the reputation of having the longest-lasting vehicles on the road. So there should be no surprise that the 4Runner easily passes this test. The new highlights on the 2020 model are the touchscreen upgrade from the 6.1-inch to the 8-inch size, and there is the new safety package that now comes standard on all 4Runner models known as the Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P).
The most wonderful thing about the 2020 4Runner is that it has eight available trims. So if you are planning on doing some test driving, you may want to explore all of the choices to see which one will suit you best. They are the SR5, SR5 Premium, TRD Off-Road, TRD Off-Road Premium, Venture Special Edition, Limited, Nightshade Edition, and TRD Pro.
Depending on the trim you pick out will decide what features you get. You can easily pick from the choices at the dealership or build your own with the features you want. As far as the features themselves go, you are going to love what's available to you. There are features such as all-weather floor mats, a leather-wrapped shift knob, a sliding cargo deck that can handle up to 440 pounds, 15-speaker JBL system, rear USB ports, an 8-inch touchscreen, Optitron instrumentation, heated and ventilated front seats, power moonroof, and premium leather or cloth seating.
What's worth noting is the connection services that you get with the new 4Runner. There is the Remote Connect, WIFI Connect, Destination Connect, and Service Connect. With the Remote Connect, you can unlock your doors from your smartphone, which is very convenient if it's raining, and you don't have an umbrella or if you accidentally lock your keys in the vehicle.
The WIFI Connect comes with hotspot capabilities that allow you to be on your favorite apps on your devices without using data. Destination Connect helps you get to where you are going. It's an upgraded version of the GPS navigation system. Services Connect helps you keep track of the maintenance of your vehicle, such as when to get your oil changed.
The new 2020 4Runner has a 4.0L V6 engine with 270 horsepower and 278 lb-ft of torque. You are getting an adventurous SUV that comes with a five-speed automatic transmission and low emissions. Also, there is part-time 4-wheel drive with Active Traction Control. What stands out about the new 4Runner is that you now get Hill Start Assist and Downhill-Assist Control.
The Toyota Safety Sense P(TTS-P) comes with several components, and all are worth noting. You will get the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beams. All of these features, including the rearview camera, now comes standard.
