Little has changed with the 2019 version of the Toyota Sequoia, but all of the advantages the Sequoia has been known for since its first model in 2001 are continued in the 2019 model.
The Sequoia continues to offer more cargo space than most similar vehicles in its class. This is a great for motorists who have a lot of gear and supplies to transport around. Another thing this 2019 SUV offers is that it rides over bumps in the road fairly smoothly thanks to its superior suspension system. The 2019 Toyota Sequoia offers a great deal of seating space and can seat as many as eight passengers.
The 2019 Sequoia continues on with the second generation of Sequoias that was first made available in the 2008 model.
There are four different Sequoia models available in 2019. The most basic option is the SR5 model. This model offers two different trims. The first trim is a 2WD model with a six speed automatic transmission. The second trim for the SR5 model is the four wheel drive model. This is also a six-speed automatic. All of the trim options for the 2019 Sequoia offer eight cylinders and at least a 5.7 liter engine.
The other three 2019 model options are the TRD Sport, the Limited, and the Platinum models. Every single one of these options includes the Toyota Safety Sense P feature, which is a system that assists with visibility in blind spots with the help of steering assist and pedestrian detection. The Safety Sense P system also offers radar cruise control.
The base model and trim for the 2019 Sequoia offers 381 horsepower. The six speed automatic transmission of the base model provides both overdrive and auto-manual features. The drivetrain is rear wheel drive for the two wheel drive streams, but there is also a four wheel drive option.
The combined miles-per-gallon figure for the base model is 15 MPG combined city/highway. The higher performance four wheel drive model offers a combined miles-per-gallon figure of 14 MPG. The base model offers 13 MPG for specifically city driving and 17 MPG for specifically highway driving.
Numerous safety features are offered on the 2019 Toyota Sequoia. All of the models and trims come along with anti-lock brakes. Also, Sequoia vehicles feature stability control to improve handling and adjust engine power according to the driving conditions. There are front-impact airbags and side-impact airbags. Additionally, Sequoia models include both knee airbags and overhead airbags for enhanced protection.
The Sequoia design includes a security system. This system will allow the vehicle to anticipate and detect any unauthorized intrusions into the vehicle. There is an ignition disable feature that will make it so that the engine will not start if the original manufacturer key is not preset and used to start the vehicle.
Another safety feature of the 2019 Sequoia is the pretensioners built into the seatbelts. These will tighten the seatback automatically if an imminent collision is detected. Other safety features include forward-collision warning, automatic braking, lane-departure warning, and a rearview camera.
