Meet the 4Runner SUV

The 2017 Toyota 4Runner in Houston is a classic body-on-frame SUV with an adventurous spirit that never goes out of style. With seating for five and an array of modern conveniences, as well as incredible off-roading power, the 4Runner is the sixth family member you've been missing.

The 4Runner carries over into the new model year with one minor change: last year's Trail and Trail Premium trims are now called TRD Off-Road and TRD Off-Road Premium, respectively. For additional details and specs, continue reading our 2017 Toyota 4Runner review below.

Six Well-Equipped Trims to Choose From

According to The Car Connection's 2017 Toyota 4Runner review, the SUV's interior "feels traditional yet freshly detailed." The dashboard and control center are simple and easy-to-use, while high-quality materials and the latest tech meet buyers' expectations of modern comfort.

The 4Runner is offered in six trims, starting with the entry-level SR5. Features like LED taillights, a power liftgate, rear privacy glass, 40/20/40-split folding and reclining rear seats, and second-row vents ensure that mom, dad and the kids are all happy campers. A 6.1-inch touchscreen with voice controls, Bluetooth connectivity, a USB port and an 8-speaker audio system are also included in the list of standard features.

V6 Power and Towing Specs

The 4Runner's 4.0-liter V6 engine packs a big punch, producing a heathy 270 horsepower and 278 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped, the 4Runner can tow up to 5,000 lbs. on select models.

A five-speed automatic transmission sends power to the wheels, and the SUV is offered with one of three drive systems: 4x2, part-time 4x4 with low-range gearing, or full-time 4x4 with low-range gearing and a locking center differential. TRD Off-Road packs on even more off-road oriented features, including a Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System, Multi-Terrain Select, crawl control and a locking rear differential.

Standard Rearview Camera and More

The 2017 Toyota 4Runner for sale in Houston has numerous safety features, starting with eight standard airbags, stability and traction control, anti-lock brakes with brake assist, side-impact door beams and a rearview camera. The Limited trim offers even more equipment, including front and rear parking sensors and the Toyota Safety Connect emergency telematics system.
