Dog lovers, here’s an event you won’t want to miss: The 39th annual Houston World Series of Dog Shows! Set for Wednesday, July 20 through Sunday, July 24, 2016, at Houston’s state-of-the-art NRG Center, this canine extravaganza is sure to be a great time for the whole family.
Some of the main attractions include breed judging, dog races, and four-footed athletes catching Frisbees and dancing to music! And if you’re looking for that perfect pup, you’ll also get a chance to learn about a variety of different breeds to help you make a sound decision on the type of dog that is right for you.
To kick things off on Wednesday, you’ll get to watch the ultra-popular Houston Working Dog and All-Terrier shows as well as talk with handlers as they prep their furry friends in the Crating and Grooming area. On Thursday, there will be an all-specialty group of shows with Conformation (Breed Judging) competitions that end with “Best of Breed” accolades. Friday, Saturday and Sunday each end with a “Best of Show” winner, which will be picked from finalists among the seven variety groups with over 150 different breeds represented.
