Other than its roomy cabin, the iM comes with plenty of high-tech features. For starters, its six-speaker Pioneer audio system will play from various sources, including iPods and other devices. It is navigated through a 7-inch touchscreen that also includes standard HD Radio and Aha.
The car’s leather-wrapped steering wheel is outfitted nicely with fingertip switches for audio, multi-info display and hands-free calls via Bluetooth.
On top of these standard amenities, every Corolla iM also gets dual-zone automatic A/C control. And when the outside temps take a dip, the color-keyed heated power-folding exterior mirrors clear up frost in no time.
An Energetic EngineThis fun-to-drive Corolla is powered by a 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that makes 137 horsepower. It has a standard 6-speed stick shift that makes for an engaging experience behind the wheel. An automatic transmission is optional, however, both configurations come with Hill Start Assist, which helps prevent roll-back when pulling away from a stop sign on a hill. The chassis is equipped with a savvy double-wishbone rear suspension for better handling on windy roads.
Visual AppealThe Toyota Corolla iM is offered in a variety of exterior colors, including Blizzard Pearl, Classic Silver Metallic, Black Sand Pearl, Barcelona Red Metallic, Spring Green Metallic and Electric Storm Blue. In addition, this sporty hatchback comes with sharp-eyed headlights and a piano black grille treatment.
Safety FirstFor 2017, the former Scion comes with Toyota Safety Sense technology and eight airbags. There’s also a rearview camera that makes parking and backing up a breeze.
